Benjamin Burton is a mathematician who enjoys working at the crossroads of mathematics and computer science. He is presently a QEII Research Fellow at the University of Queensland, where his main focus is on problems in computational geometry and topology.

From 1999–2008 he was director of training for the Australian informatics olympiad programme, and he now sits on the IOI Scientific Committee. He also has a long involvement with the Australian mathematics olympiad programme and the National Mathematics Summer School.
