Wolfgang Pohl has a computer science education. For more than ten years, he has been responsible for Bundeswettbewerb Informatik, the German national contest in computer science for high school students. In that position, it is among his duties to lead the German IOI delegation and to overlook training and selection of the German IOI team. In addition, he is initiator and project manager of the German implementation of the international Bebras contest (see http://www.informatik-biber.de/) and has initiated a web portal and web community for youth interested in computer science: Einstieg Informatik
